Anolyte ANK manufactured by STEL devices (“Scientific-and-production association “Ekran”, JSC) is applied in many patient-care and disease-prevention institutions located either in the city of Moscow or in many other cities of Russia, as well as in the cities of foreign countries and of the countries representing the former republics of the Soviet Union.

City Clinical Hospital No 15 and City Clinical Hospital No 52 are considered to be one of the examples of successful antiepidemic measures arrangement in patient-care and disease-prevention institutions of the city of Moscow being carried out within many years already.

Since the year of 1989 the requirements of the city clinical hospital No 15 are satisfied by STEL device, the latter devices providing the hospital with the basic volume of disinfecting, sterilizing and washing agents. While the volume of manufactured anolyte ANK made only 2300 litres/year in the year of 1992, with the latter figure representing 30,3 % of all the disinfecting substances applied in the City Clinical Hospital No 15, in 10 years, that is, by the year of 2002, anolyte consumption made 1059091 litres/year – that is, 99,7 % of all the disinfecting agents being applied.

According to the results of bacteriological control, in the year of 1992 the objects insemination level made approximately 5%, however, by the year of 1997 it reduces to 1,3% and by the years of 2002 – 2003 it was equal to 0,6 % and 0,4 %, respectively. The morbidity rate reduction registered for acute viral B-hepatitis detected per 1000 people from amongst the patients who previously received medical treatment in the hospital and fell sick afterwards became the other indication of successful antiepidemic measures arrangement: in the year of 1992 it was equal to 0,45 %, in the year of 1996 it made 0,15 %, in the year of 1998 it made 0,08 % and in the year of 2003 it reduced to 0,02 %.

The results of spectrum analysis carried out with respect to disinfectants which were applied starting from the year of 1992 till the year of 2003 permitted to ascertain that the insemination level reduction correlates with the beginning of STEL devices putting into operation for the purposes of electrochemically activated Anolyte ANK neutral manufacturing.

The morbidity rate dynamics registered for HB-hepatitis (as detected per 1000 people from among the patients who previously received medical treatment in the hospital) and increase of percentage ratio of anolyte share in comparison with the other disinfecting agents that were applied in the City Clinical Hospital No 15 starting from the year of 1992 till the year of 2003.

Within 10 years there were 11 disinfection rooms equipped with STEL devices destined for electrochemically activated solutions manufacturing organized in the City Clinical Hospital No 15.

Starting from the end of year 2000 anolyte ANK was introduced for regular application in the City Clinical Hospital No 52 of the city of Moscow (61820 litres). Its consumption made 385590 litres in the year of 2001 and in the year of 2002 it increased to 622720 litres per year.

In the year of 2005 anolyte ANK represented as much as 97,5 % of all of the disinfecting agents that were applied in the hospital, – its consumption increased to 1504365 litres per year. At the same time, the opinion expressed by the City Clinical Hospital No 52 indicated that neutral anolyte application permitted to reduce general objects insemination level observed in the patient care institution from 4,1% in the year of 1996 (prior to anolyte application) to 0,7 % obtained in the year of 2005. The rate of morbidity with acute viral hepatitis observed per 1000 people from among the patients who previously received medical treatment in the hospital reduced from 0,48 % in the year of 1996 to 0,08% in the year of 2004 (3 instances), as well.

The dynamics of objects bacterial insemination level registered in the hospital and increase of percentage ratio of anolyte share in comparison with the other disinfecting agents that were applied in the City Clinical Hospital No 52 starting from the year of 1997 till the year of 2005.

This data is proved by the other patient-care and disease-prevention institutions, as well. Anolyte ANK is widely applied in the 3-rd military hospital for war veterans where STEL devices have been successfully operated within 7 years already, as well as in the patient-care and disease-prevention institutions of such cities as the city of Rostov-on-Don, the city of Stariy Oskol, the city of Yelets (tuberculous dispensary) and of many other cities of Russia, of the countries representing the former republics of the Soviet Union and of foreign countries, as well.

For example, in the patient-care and disease-prevention institution of the city of Rostov-on-Don, where anolyte ANK is constantly applied for the purposes of premises, linen, dishware, sanitary-and-technical equipment and medical technique articles disinfection, as well as a sterilizing agent, the specific weight of unsatisfactory objects washouts makes 0,5%, with stable hospital infections level reduction observed (by 2 – 4 times – for various types of hepatitis). The researches being carried out in CITO-Testing Centre attached to the State Science Administrative Board of the city of Moscow also show that anolyte ANK having concentration of 0,05% demonstrates rather high activity with respect to intrahospital microorganisms strains, with the latter feature significantly reducing the risk of hospital infection origination. Since November of the year 1997 ANK anolyte is applied in tuberculous dispensary of the city of Yelets, Lipetskaya district, with the purposes of disinfection. There have been 497 washouts from various points, zones and instruments made with the purpose of sterility level determination after processing with neutral anolyte having oxidants concentration of 0,06%, – and there has been no pathogenic flora growth detected in any of the cases.

There are more than 6 000 STEL devices altogether operated in the hospitals of the city of Moscow, and more than 5 000 STEL devices are operated in the hospitals of Saint-Petersburg.
