Opinion about STEL devices

“Starting from the year of 1995 there are the devices of STEL-type operated in our hospital: STEL-10AK (output capacity makes 120 litres/hour), STEL-80-01 (output capacity makes 80 litres/hour) and STEL-40-01 (output capacity makes 40 litres/hour), – in these devices common tap water, with small amount of sodium chloride added in it, turns into solution possessing abnormally high physical-and-chemical and catholytic activity which is achieved as the result of unipolar electrochemical action, with this process running in flow mode.
Solutions manufactured in STEL devices significantly differ from disinfecting solutions which are prepared with the help of chemical method, as far as biocide chemical substances application is not ecologically clean, since it is connected with application of chemical agents which degrade in external environment very slowly and are equally harmful for all the forms of albuminous life – beginning from bacterium to human being. The basic biocide ingredients of solutions that are manufactured in STEL devices (electrochemically activated solutions) are metastable highly active chemical compounds which have been electrochemically synthesized of low-mineralized water; the parent substances, that is, low-mineralized water, are the products of their degradation.
Electrochemically activated solutions are not only ecologically clean and high-performance agents destined for disinfecting, pre-sterilisation cleansing and sterilisation of medical-purpose articles, but also are anti-infective agents. These solutions application for the purposes of peritoneal dialysis carried out in suppurative diseases department of our hospital has proved their high efficiency; on an average, normalisation occurs 3 – 4 days earlier than in case common antiseptic solutions are applied. Low cost price of electrochemically activated solutions, simplicity of their manufacturing and strongly pronounced antimicrobial action permit to recommend them for wide application.”
