Comment on STEL device Functioning

“STEL-MT-1 device has been working for 2 years already. Anolyte and catholyte solutions manufactured in the plant were applied by us on the basis of procedural directives approved by the deputy head of State Sanitary-and-epidemiological Supervision Committee of the Russian Federation No 01-19/49-11 of August 10, 1993, as well as of recommendations of «Ekran», Scientific-and-production Association and on the basis of permit issued by the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine, by the New Medical Technique Committee (Protocol No 12 of December 27, 1995). In surgical department (more than 500 patients) these solutions have been used for the purposes of abdominal cavity lavage (peritonitis of any origin), in contaminated surgery – for lavage of abscesses, phlegmons and suppurative affections of skin and subcutaneous cellular tissue. As a result, the terms of patients’ treatment have decreased. Anolyte solution is also applied for the purpose of suture material (catgut, silk), catheters and probes pouring. Re-pouring was made every 5 days. Laboratory data (inoculation of sterility) certify suture material sterility. Anolyte and catholyte solutions were also applied in maternity and gynaecological departments (more than 55 patients) for the purposes of gynaecological disorders treatment with the help of syringing method, the latter procedures gave positive results, as well.
We believe that solutions manufactured in a device of STEL-type are efficient for application in patient-care and disease-prevention institutions with respect to suppurative-and-septic diseases.”
