R. I. Khamidov, the chief medical officer, A. Sh. Abdumadzhidov, the junior member of teaching staff, chair of general surgery:

“STEL device is successfully operated in practical work performed in the surgical department of clinic No 1 of Tashkent-city pediatric medical institute. Each day this STEL device manufactures up to 25-30 litres of bactericidal liquid destined for medical instruments disinfection in surgical operations unit, for surgeons’ hands treatment, for treatment and disinfection of surgical unit and surgical department premises.

Drastic reduction of post-surgical suppurations frequency observed within this period, undoubtedly, points to perfect bactericidal properties of the liquid being used. At the present time there is a procedure of suppurating wounds and cavities irrigation being worked through, with this procedure providing for regulation of active chlorine concentration in the liquid being obtained. …”
