Analysis of STEL-M-1 device Application in Surgical Department of the 6-th City Hospital Attached to Medical-and-sanitary Station of “LuganskTeplovoz”, Production Association

“Starting from July of the year 1993 till now there has been a STEL-M-1 device being applied for the purpose of “anolyte” and “catholyte” therapeutic-and-disinfecting solutions manufacturing in the surgical department of the 6-th city hospital attached to Medical-and-sanitary station of “LuganskTeplovoz”, production association.

In the surgical department anolyte solutions are applied for treatment of 96 people who have suppurating-and-inflammatory wounds:
  • phlegmon – 12,
  • abscess – 34,
  • trophic ulcers – 10,
  • mastitis – 6,
  • extensive necrotic suppurative affections of subcutaneous cellular tissue – 9,
  • other diseases – 21.
EXAMPLES:
  1. Extensive necrotic suppurative phlegmon of buttock which a patient who has got spinal injury has against the background of persistant sepsis. After phlegmon was opened – there was wound treatment carried out, with “anolyte” being applied for cavity sanation, followed by “catholyte” injection; the cavity managed to skin over within 3 weeks.
  2. There was a patient that had the III-rd grade frostbite of his hands fingers. The question at issue was his hands amputation, however, catholyte and anolyte solutions application permitted this patient to leave the hospital in 2 months, with his both hands functioning being satisfactory.
  3. In case of pancreatic diabetes accompanied by humid gangrene of lower extremities and complicated with phlegmon, the wound healed over within 3 months, - the patient managed to escape amputation.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

As far as gynaecology department is concerned, anolyte solution is applied there for the purposes of chronic adnexitis, colpitis, vulvitis treatment being carried out in the form of baths, as well as for the purposes of necrotic suppurative wounds treatment according to the same procedure that is applied in surgical department.

There have been altogether 38 patients treated, with results obtained being good.

Anolyte solution has been used during sanitary cleansing of floor panels and furniture carried out in operational department, dressing rooms, water closets.

Anolyte solution is used with the purpose of surgical instruments pre-soaking, with the obtained bacterial inoculation results being negative for the instruments that were used during surgical operation.”
