V. B. Rovinskaya, the deputy chief medical officer:

“… Application of electrochemically activated solutions which are manufactured in STEL devices has resulted in the following positive effects observed in the hospital:
  • Aggregate insemination level of objects located in surrounding environment has significantly decreased …, the latter fact permitted to decrease the monthly bacteriological washouts volume in departments from 500 to 300;
  • The rate of sickness with acute viral V-hepatitis among people who were formerly treated in the hospital and fell ill later on, made: in the year of 1992 – 0,45 %, in the year of 1996 – 0,15 %, in the year of 1998 – 0,08 % per 1000 people, the latter fact representing indirect evidence of disinfection quality improvement.

Operated at the present time are 9 STEL devices which permit to satisfy the significant percent of requirement that the hospital has regarding disinfecting, washing and sterilising agents.

The data analysis carried out in the field of application of various disinfecting agents that were used in the hospital since the year of 1992 till the year of 2000 has shown that the quantity of anolyte manufactured and its percentage with respect to all of the disinfecting agents being used made: in the year of 1992 – 2300 litres – 30,3 %, …, in the year of 2000 – 967571 litres – 99,7 %.

… Total disinfecting agents consumption in the hospital is constantly increasing; however, it is not sufficient, and it is intended to purchase additional quantity of STEL devices, and to continue the scientific-and-research work being carried out together with “Ekran”, Scientific-and-production association”, as well.”
