Protocol of STEL device Clinical Testing Conducted in the Field of Washing, Disinfecting and Sterilising Solutions Manufacturing

The head of Resuscitation and Intensive Care Department of the Central Hospital of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, G. A. Petrakov, lieutenant colonel of internal service:

“Neutral anolyte practical testing conducted with respect to its application for the purposes of disinfection and pre-sterilisation cleansing were carried out in Resuscitation and Intensive Care Department of the Central Hospital of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation starting form the 3-rd of April till the 1-st of November of the year 1995. There were the following facilities provided for testing procedure:

STEL-80-02 device production sample;

Plant registration certificates;
Procedural Directives on activated electrochemical sodium chloride solutions (anolyte, catholyte) application.

Conclusions:

STEL-80-01 device permits to manufacture the unlimited quantity of inexpensive disinfecting solution.

In case the activated electrochemical solutions are applied in accordance with the respective procedure, then this gives an opportunity to easily ensure sanitary-and-epidemiological regime observation in patient care institutions.

Neutral anolyte can be applied by surgeons and by all the officers of anaesthesiology and resuscitation department for the purposes of hands treatment either prior to performing medical manipulations, or after the series of medical manipulations connected with significant hands contamination are carried out (enemas, bandaging of patients having purulent infections and others).

Neutral anolyte doesn’t exert any detrimental effect on personnel.

Catholyte possesses good washing abilities.

Catholyte and anolyte do not provoke any changes to appear in products.

There are only indificient and inexpensive domestic chemical agents required for plant operation.

STEL device destined for generation of washing, disinfecting and sterilising solutions that are manufactured by “Ekran”, Scientific-and-production association“ can be recommended for application in military-and-medical institutions, especially under the conditions of extensive patients receipt.”
